Terms of service

The rules, without the maze.

These terms are a real agreement, but we’ve written them the way we’d want to read them: short, direct, and honest.

Last updated: August 22, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Freefall, the nonprofit organization that operates the Freefall app and this website. By creating an account or using Freefall, you agree to them.

1. Who can use Freefall

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You may have one account, and it must be about you — your real photos, your real age, your real intentions.
  • You may not use Freefall if we previously removed you for breaking these terms.

2. What Freefall is

Freefall introduces you to one person at a time. There is no browsing, no swiping, and no feed. Every feature is free: there are no subscriptions, no ads, no boosts, and nothing for sale. We may add, change, or retire features as the app evolves, and we can’t promise a match, a timeline for one, or any particular outcome — chemistry remains gloriously outside our control.

3. Your content

  • You own what you post — your photos, your profile, your messages.
  • You give Freefall permission to store and display that content as needed to run the service — for example, showing your profile to your current match and delivering your messages.
  • Only post content that is yours to post, and that you’d be comfortable with your match seeing.

4. How to behave

Freefall works because people treat each other well. You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, demean, or deceive anyone.
  • Pretend to be someone else, misstate your age, or run more than one account.
  • Use Freefall for anything commercial — advertising, solicitation, or selling — or ask other members for money.
  • Post sexual content involving minors, or any illegal content. This results in immediate removal and, where appropriate, a report to authorities.
  • Scrape, probe, or interfere with the service, or attempt to access accounts or data that aren’t yours.

5. Safety and enforcement

You can block or report anyone at any time; see how safety works on Freefall. We review reports, and if an account breaks these terms we may warn, suspend, or permanently remove it. For serious harm we may act without warning. If we get it wrong, write to support@freefall.app and a person will look again.

6. Donations

Donations to Freefall are entirely voluntary. They fund the operation of a free app; they do not buy features, visibility, matches, or any other advantage — for you or anyone else.

7. Leaving Freefall

You can pause matching or delete your account whenever you like, from inside the app. Deleting your account ends this agreement, and our privacy policy describes what happens to your data.

8. Disclaimers

Freefall is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it available, accurate, and safe, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted service, and we don’t conduct criminal background checks on members. Use good judgment when meeting anyone new — our safety page has practical guidance.

9. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Freefall is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including the conduct of other members, on or off the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make a meaningful change to these terms, we’ll notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Freefall after that means you accept the updated terms.
